About Us

CHORUS

Our Choral Program offers opportunities for students to participate in many group ensemble performances both local and statewide. Our local performances include a Fall, Winter, and Spring Chorus concert held in the LFO Theater. The statewide ensemble performances include SingFest and GMEA District VII Honor Chorus. Students are expected to demonstrate a basic understanding in sight-reading and music theory while executing learned vocal technique and choral excellence. Chorus students are eligible to compete in our regional GHSA Literary Competition (Girls and Boys Vocal Solos, Girls Trio, Boys Quartet). Students in Chorus are eligible to graduate with a Chorus Pathway stamped with the Georgia Department of Education's Fine Arts Seal.

MUSICAL THEATRE 

Our Musical Theatre Program offers opportunities for students to participate in two state wide competitions per academic school year. In the Fall, students participate in our regional GHSA One Act Play Competition (7AA) and in the Spring, students participate in the Jewel Awards through the Tivoli Theatre Foundation. Musical Theatre students are eligible to compete in our regional GHSA Literary Competition (Girls Solo, Boys Solo, Girls Trio, Boys Quartet, Duo Interpretation, Solo Humorous Interpretation, and Solo Dramatic Interpretation) and apply for the Governor Honors Program. Students in Musical Theatre are eligible to complete a Theatre Arts Pathway stamped with the Georgia Department of Education Fine Arts Seal. These students are eligible to apply to be in LFO's chapter of the International Thespian Society. LFO is home to Thespian Troupe 12101. Students inducted into our Troupe have the opportunity to attend Georgia Thescon and audition for All State Theatre (Educational Theatre Association). 

DRAMA/TECHNICAL THEATRE

Our Drama and Technical Theatre programs offer opportunities for students to explore the many different complex subjects within the Theatrical art form such as acting techniques, technical theater, directing, theatre literature and history, production management, and more. Drama and Technical Theatre students are eligible to compete in our regional GHSA Literary Competition (Duo Interpretation, Solo Humorous Interpretation, and Solo Dramatic Interpretation) and apply for the Governor Honors Program. These students are eligible to apply to be in LFO's chapter of the International Thespian Society. LFO is home to Thespian Troupe 12101. Students inducted into our Troupe have the opportunity to attend Georgia Thescon and audition for All State Theatre (Educational Theatre Association) and Thespys!  Students in Technical Theatre are eligible to complete a Theatre Arts Pathway stamped with the Georgia Department of Education Fine Arts Seal.
