Week Of October 5

Principal's Message

What a great week we just had on the Hill! The Powderpuff game was a huge success. Great job, Ms. Hartman, organizing the event. Our band had an excellent performance at the Battle of the Bands Tuesday night. Big shout-out to Mrs. Miller and the LFO Band! Fall Break is coming up next week. I hope everyone will be able to rest up and recharge! Remember that Homecoming activities begin the first day back(Oct 19th)! Adam Sandler Day will be Monday. Please see the information below for all the activities and dates. Congratulations to Brody Barry, who was named the FCA athlete of the week for his performance against Gordon Central! We will have Senior Night for Softball this Wednesday! Lizet Jimenez and Sieanna Miller will be honored before the game. These two will definitely be missed next year! Sophomores will be taking the PSAT this Thursday. Make sure you are here on time and give your best effort. Let's finish this nine weeks strong. Come to school each day and get those missing assignments turned in before Friday! I am proud of everyone for their effort this first nine weeks. Enjoy the break, and then let's pick right up where we will be leaving off. Feathers up!!

IMPORTANT: LFO Traffic Pattern

Warriors, please help us ensure the safety of all students by following our school’s traffic pattern. Student drop-off and pick-up is located at the back of the building, and at no time should parents pick up students in the front of the building after school. All walkers should use the sidewalk and cross at the designated crosswalk near Tommy Cash Stadium when crossing Battlefield Parkway.

Please also note that the traffic pattern around the school is one-way, and at no time, including athletic events, should cars be driving against traffic. Following these procedures helps us maintain a safe and orderly environment for everyone on campus.

Homecoming Dance/Parade Info

1. Homecoming Dance Info:
Our Homecoming Dance will take place on Saturday, October 24 from 6-8pm in the LFO gymnasium. The cost for the dance is $20 and tickets are on sale now.

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY AS THERE IS A NEW PROCEDURE! This year, LFO students don't have to have a paper permission form. Instead, they'll sign up using the QR codes located around the school, here on Parent Square (https://forms.gle/aL2prGBxQ4oweXaW6) or on their cohort Google Classroom. Once they've signed up, the $20 fee will be added to their infinite campus account and can then be paid in room 103 between classes, in the bookkeepers office, or online (additional fee does apply to use a card). The sign-up for LFO students will close on Friday, October 9th -- students must use their school google account to sign up!

If an LFO student wishes to bring an outside date to the dance, he/she MUST pick up a permission slip for their date in the office or outside room 103. These forms must be turned in no later than October 7th. Once the date has been approved by an LFO administrator, a second fee will be added to the LFO student's account.

All fees must be paid by Wednesday, October 21st.
